Some parents find the wipe warmer to be a useless item that takes up space near the changing table and just another appliance that consumes energy. Others, however, can’t change a diaper without it.
We’re the latter!
We’ve tried a variety of different brands out there and realized that finding a good wipe warmer isn’t easy. There are many brands to choose from, but not all of them are worth a purchase.
To help make your search for the best wipe warmer easier, we’ve narrowed down the list to 10 and provide you with some useful tips that will help steer you toward the right one for your diaper changing needs.
Top 10 Wipe Warmers Table
What to Look for When Shopping for a Wipe Warmer
While we have made the process easier for you by narrowing down the list to ten models, there are small differences between each one that might make one more appealing than the other.
If you want to choose the right wipe warmer for your needs and budget, then here are a few things you should pay attention to as you compare models.
- Window. If you’ve never owned a wipe warmer, then we can tell you right from the start that units with a side window are the most convenient! There is no guesswork as to how many wipes are left and whether or not you need to refill.
Being able to see into the container makes it quick and easy for you to determine when it is time to add more.
- Type of Wipes. Most units are designed to accommodate disposable wipes, but what about families who prefer a more environmentally-friendly solution?
We did manage to find one option worth purchasing that is specifically designed for use with cloth wipes, so if you’re interested in something like this, Prince Lionheart’s Warmies Wipes Warmer is the perfect product for your needs.
- Heating Location. Some wipe warmers heat from the top, which means that the first wipes you pull out will be warm. If you need a lot of them in one session, however, you risk getting a few cold ones that are further down the pile.
Others heat from the bottom, and while it can take longer for a thicker stack to heat up, we like these since you can put in a few at a time and let them warm up more quickly.
- A Good Seal. Since many parents complain of the wipes drying out, you should check to make sure that there is a good seal around the rim to help keep those wipes moist.
- Light. Having a light isn’t important, but some parents appreciate it for diaper changing in the dark. Do you want a unit with a light?
If so, consider numbers 1 or 3 on our list.
Which Brands Are Worth Purchasing?
As you noticed in our table, we didn’t give very high reviews to a lot of the products we tried. Why?
Because they simply didn’t deserve it.
Prince Lionheart is one of the best brands on our list; beat out only by Hiccapop’s one model that seems to be the best wipe warmer for many parents.
We’ll be discussing it more in depth in the review section below for those who are interested!
What About the Bottle/Wipe Warmer Combos?
There aren’t many decent options on our list, to be honest, and out of all of them, we would say that while the bottle warmer and wipe warmer combination sounds good in theory, it isn’t as effective in person.
Putting two different heating units into one single product and then pricing it so that people will actually buy it means that they had to cut corners, so usually, these items end up only heating one item well: the wipes.
If you want an effective bottle warmer, you would be better off purchasing a separate one rather than trying to kill two birds with one stone.
This is our honest opinion, and we wanted to share it with you after trying quite a few different products!
Top 3 Best Wipe Warmer Reviews
Use: Disposable Diapers
Our top pick for disposable wipes was the one from Hiccapop. We know that many parents opt for the Munchkin unit, but honestly, this one outperforms it and is much more reliable.
It has two of the features that we mentioned above – the light and the window on the side. It also features a silicone seal around the rim that will help keep moisture and heat in when the warmer is turned on, which creates a solid seal.
You can expect it to fit up to 100 standard wipes at a time, but as a top-heating unit, it might not get the lower wipes that warm when turned on. It shouldn’t be a problem for average changes, but for large blowouts, you might end up using a few cold ones on baby!
If you don’t mind spending a bit more, we would highly recommend this unit over the Munchkin.
Use: Cloth Diapers
Since this is pretty much the only model of its kind, we have to consider it to be the best wipe warmer for cloth wipes out there.
We read a lot of good things about it online before trying it and weren’t disappointed when we gave it a try, too. It comes with four cloth wipes that you can use, and additional ones can be purchased separately if you need more.
We were aware that the pillow they include was a bit useless to some users, but since it helps prevent you from burning the wipes, we recommend using it to avoid any dangerous accidents!
Regular wipe warmers just won’t cut it for cloth wipes, so if you prefer cloth to disposable, we can vouch for the usefulness and quality of this product. It’s great!
Use: Disposable Diapers
Baby products can get expensive, which is why not everyone wants to invest a few extra bucks into the Hiccapop unit. Are you shopping on a budget? If so, then the Munchkin Glow Wipe Warmer is the ideal product for your needs.
Just like the Hiccapop, you can fit up to 100 wipes in it, there is a window, it has a nightlight, and it heats from the top. Unlike the Hiccapop, however, you actually have to add water to this unit everytime you use it.
If both units are basically the same, what sets them apart?
The quality of the wiring and overall reliability is what earned this product third place on our list. It is a handy unit but seems to fail more often than the Hiccapop.
It is still a great unit, but we suggest that you hang on to your receipt in case you end up bringing home a lemon.
